What's included:

Consultation with your attorney
2-3 Clinical Interview Sessions totaling approximately 4-5 hours
A professional interpreter if needed
Review of relevant documents (medical records, police reports, legal documents, etc.)
Diagnostic screening tools based on your individual case
Diagnosis (if applicable) and clinical interpretation
Recommendations and referrals for ongoing care
A polished final report, usually 12-18 pages in length

What is a psychosocial evaluation?

A psychosocial evaluation is an objective assessment conducted by a therapist to understand your social, emotional, environmental and mental health. The interview generally takes place over two sessions, which are 1-3 hours each. I will ask you about your childhood, relationships and life. We will discuss the impact of the specific situation involved in your immigration case, which for many people includes traumatic or life altering experiences. You will be given several questionnaires, to assess symptoms of mental distress and illness. After the interview, I review any relevant documents, such as your mental health or medical records. I will then compile the information into a narrative report, which will be sent to you and your attorney for review. This report is generally 12-18 pages long and completed within about 2 weeks of our last meeting. I will also discuss with you any recommendations for your mental well being and provide referrals for ongoing care or assistance.
Where are interviews held?

Interviews are generally held via telehealth using a secure HIPAA compliant video platform. At the time of the assessment, you must be physically located in the states of Indiana, Colorado, or Vermont.
How much does an evaluation cost?

The fee for a typical psychosocial evaluation is $1,250. Payment is due as follows: · $250 deposit due 1 week before the scheduled clinical interview · $500 due at the start of the first clinical interview · $500 due 2 weeks after the clinical interview Drafts will not be released or finalized until payments are made in full For expedited evaluations, full payment must be made at the time of scheduling.
What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, money order, check and credit/debit cards. If paying by cash, money order or check, payment in full must be made and recieved prior to the clinical interview.
What if I need an interpreter?

I will provide an interpreter for those who need it at no extra cost. Due to the nature of the assessment and its use in a legal case, it is important to have a well trained, professional interpreter. Friends or family members may not be used during the interview. An interpreter is highly recommended for anyone who is not fluent in English.
I have a court date coming up, can I get an expedited report?

Yes. Expedited reports are available on a case by case basis for an additional fee. Please call to discuss your specific needs.
Can you provide ongoing therapy?

Due to ethical considerations, I am not able to provide ongoing therapy to you or your family members after the evaluation. I am happy to provide you with resources and referrals to other mental health professionals that can meet your needs.
What is the difference between an evaluation conducted by a therapist and an evaluation conducted by a psychologist?

A Psychosocial Evaluation is conducted by master's level clinician while a Neuropsychological Evaluation is conducted by a doctoral level psychologist. In general, neuropsychological evaluations include additional testing and can include diagnosis of cognitive delays and developmental differences. Both types of evaluations contain mental health diagnostic impressions using the DSM-5. You should always consult your attorney when deciding what type of evaluation is necessary for your specific case.
Do you offer pro-bono or low cost evaluations?

Yes. I am currently partnering with a non-profit organization to provide a limited number of free and low cost evaluations.
